Genesis

Chapter 1

1.   At first¹ God created the totality² of the Universe.³
2.   The earth hath existed¹ and was without outward ² form (fashion, plan) and an uninhabitable empty barren place³; and darkness was upon the face of the deep spaceª.  And the Spirit of God was moving, hovering, brooding [moving in the circuit of heaven high above the circuit of the earthˠ] over the surface of the waters.*
3.   For God had commanded¹, Let light exist on itand the light was here, awaiting it and available.²
4.   And God SAW the light from our Sun shining on it, that it was good (conducive to life here and approved it): and God divided equally the the light from the darkness.¹
5.   And God called the lit half Day, and the dark half He called Night. And that First evening, sunset, night half and that First morning, sunrise, break of day half were now a complete single Day [Day with the Lord, who is SEEING here, whose single Days are a thousand Years each¹.  But along with that came sunset and sunrise continually, repititiously² for a thousand years in that Day One].
6.   And God said, Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters, and let it separate the earthly waters from the heavenly waters.
7.   And God made the atmosphere [where the First heaven¹ is], and it separated the waters which were under the atmosphere from the waters which were above the atmosphere² [in the Second heaven³]: and so it was.
8.   And God called the expansive atmosphere heaven.  And the continual sunset and sunrise [during that thousand Year period of time] comprised the second Day [in God's sight].
9.   And God said, Let the wetness under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dryness appear: and so it was.
10.  And God called the dryness, Land; and the gathering together of the wetness he called Seas: and God SAW that it was good (conducive to life here and approved it).
11.  And God said, Let the Land sprout grasses and bear scattering seeds [for animal consumption], and woodiness with fruit [for man-kind consumption], every species containing it's own seed, upon the Land: and so it was.
12.  And the Land sourced grasses that grassed [for animal consumption] that were plants of non-woodiness, and the woodiness or trees and vines with fruit [for man-kind consumption], every seed containing it's own species: and God SAW it was good (conducive to life here).
13.  And the continual sunset and sunrise [during that thousand Year period of time] comprised the third Day [in God's sight].
14.  And God said, Let luminaries make their appearance to be seen all across the sky in the heavens, to make an interval break between the day and the night, to appear for signs, and for appointed festal seasons, and for days, and years [as a period of time for mankind because of their setting and rising].
15.  And they have been for luminaries to act on the atmosphere of the heaven and shine upon the Earth:  and that is what had resulted.
16.  And God pre-ordained in the laws of the Universe that there would be two great luminaries; the great luminary to govern the day, and the small luminary to govern the night and that includes the stars also.
17.  And God gives the Sun¹ and puts the Moon in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the Earth,
18.  And exert their power over the day and over the night, and to make the interval break between the light and darkness: and God SAW that it was good (conducive to life here and gave his approval of it).
19.  And the continual sunset and sunrise [during that thousand Year period of time] comprised the fourth Day [in God's sight].
20.  And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarming living things, and winged things that fly above the Earth in the open expanse of the skies.

1.  ¹Prov. 8:22; John 1:1.  As with John 1:1, literally, At the starting point.   "In the beginning" is a phrase denoting God's 'reign' as king of the Universe WHEN his ancient activity commenced,  i.e., Tanakh (1985): "When God began to create ....."  (is when He began to reign.... from eternity)
Jewish commentary by two rabbis on Gen. 1:1 The Targum of Onkelos.  "In the first times" should be translated as "At First"
-Onkelos on the Torah (Aramaic translation of Torah, believed to have been done around 400 AD.
Since it uses tannaitic midrashim redacted about 400 CE, they posit that the work could not have come from an earlier date.)
God himself has no beginning or origin, but his creating and reigning over that which he has created, does.
²The heavens and the earth is a figure of speech meaning "everything"
     ³"Universe" -International Standard Version
The heavens and the earth is the normal phrase in the Bible for the Universe -Ellicott's Commentary

2.  ¹"hath existed" -Young's Literal Translation
²"outward form or fashion (appearance)" ...the Greek word schema means "plan" ....the word metaschematizo reveals the meaning in 1 Cor. 7:31; Psa. 90:2
³ The earth was a dead planet like the moon until it was put under water as a garment -Psa.104:6; Psa. 65:9; 2 Pet. 3:5
ª The earth had no atmosphere like the moon, so the sky was pitch black even when sunlit.
ˠ "moves in the circuit of heaven" -Job 22:14/James Moffatt.  "sitteth enthroned above the circuit of the earth" -Isa. 40:22/Creation Bible
     *  Darkness should be seen as connecting to the light in the following verse.  Also the waters spanning verses 3 - 5, but connecting to verse 6.  But at the same time, they (light & water) are within the first 1,000 year Day.

3.  ¹Psa. 147:15
Light or luminescence itself is not being created here, but was already in existence when God created the cosmos in verse one.
² The planet was in darkness when it was out among the stars until God brought it here. So the earth was brought here with great speed, and being red hot, it was cooled by water (also pre-existent) which came down from heaven itself, as His Dove Spirit visited the earth:
"water from above the heavens" -Psa.148:4
"Thou visitest the earth and give it an abundance of water, and the river of God is full of water" -Psa. 65:9 (Rev.22:1; 2:7)

4.   ¹ As the earth began rotating it made both day and night possible everywhere simultaneously. "Who turns the deep darkness into morning, who darkens day into night" - Amos 5:8/International Standard Version

5.   ¹Moses also wrote Psa. 90: "One thousand years in your SIGHT are but a single day that passes by, just like a night watch" -Psa. 90:4/International Standard Version.
"Don't forget this fact, dear friends: With the Lord a single day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a single day" -2 Pet. 3:8/International Standard Version
Man's own time reckoning isn't official until verse 14, even though at that point, man does not yet exist.
²The meaning of the word YOM can mean continually and can mean a period of time in which everything takes place that is supposed to.

7.   ¹The first heaven is the atmosphere where the Prince of the power of the air dwells in Eph. 2:2 and in (high) heavenly places in Eph. 6:12.
²"the waters above the heavens" -Psa. 148:4
³The second heaven is where Paradise and the Garden of God is, also called Garden of Eden 2 Cor. 12:4; Rev.2:7; Luke 23:43.
Above it is the highest heaven (Job 22:12), the third heaven (2 Cor.12:2) the Mountain of God (Ezek. 28:14,16; Isa.14:13) where the lofty one dwells
      (Isa. 57:15; Exod. 24:10).

        Prov. 8:29

Chapter 2

1.     And the entire creation is complete, and with it all the heavenly hosts (of inhabited worlds¹ and angels²).
2.    And God completed, finished, ended by the seventh Day [7,000 years or 7 Days with God¹] His work which He had made, and ceaseth, rests, stops working on everything He had been working on by the seventh Day¹.
3.    And God blesseth the seventh day, and sanctifieth it (makes it holy): for in it he hath ceased, rested, stopped working on everything which God had created (bara) for making (asah) perfect¹.
4.   This is the story of the births¹ of earth and skies, when² they were created (formed and newly transformed), in the time that God made the earth and skies.

1.      ¹ the vast array or number of massed and accumulated glorified worlds in heaven that have preceded this one and are called the stars of God in Isa. 14:13.  Heb. 1:2; 11:3
         ² the angelic order Luke 2:13; Psa.148:1-13
2.     ¹ Psa. 90:4. This becomes the first millenial (thousand year) sabbath rest. Two are required to make 14,000 years, which number 14 in Hebrew Gematria is for earthly completion (e.g., there are 3 divisions of 14 generations each in Mat.1:17).
3.      ¹ Perfect, complete, finished. The worlds are framed by the word of God, Heb.11:3
4.      ¹ Young's Literal Translation
² when it took place-the Septuagint

Chapter 7

10.   On the seventh day the waters of the flood came upon the land.
11.  In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month, on the same day all the subterranean springs were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.¹
12.    Following all that action, it rained non-stop for 40 days.

17.    And the water of the flood was upon the whole earth for forty days; and the water was exceedingly great, and had carried away the ark and had borne it aloft, and it was high above the submerged earth beneath.¹
18.   And the waters prevailed, overcame and were the victor,¹ and were greatly enlarged, their total volume spreading out overwhelming the earth. And the Ark floated, moving, carried about, on the surface of the waters.
19.    And the waters were strong, mighty, exceedingly violent¹ on the earth, and all the high, exalted, rising mountains² and hills under the whole atmosphere, heaven were covered over, overwhelmed, submerged.
20.   The waters predominated, prevailed, standing twenty two feet upward and more, above the highest mountain peak.¹
24.    And the waters prevailed and continually surged¹ on the earth for 150 days (five months).

11.   ¹Meteorologically speaking, no atmospheric development or disturbance is instantaneous. The conditions started forming on the seventh day. They stopped in Gen. 8:2 when (1) God sent the strong Jet Stream to break it up and (2) it had finally all rained out of the atmosphere.
17.   ¹The volume of water in the Seven Seas is enough to envelop the entire planet with a blanket of it 2 miles deep or more, which was the situation in Gen.1:2; Psa.104:6. Originally, the earth was flatter, like the moon.  The flood changed the surface greatly, when Michael rolled the earth's outer crust half over Isa.24:1;19; Rev.10:1.
18.     ¹Jer. 5:22
19.     ¹Lit. translation by Jay P. Green/Interlinear Bible
² Most mountains and mountain ranges were formed then, including Ararat: Psa. 104:8; 90:2;  In the regeneration (Mat.19:28): Isa. 40:4; 54:10; Zech.14:10; 1 Cor. 7:31; Rev.6:14; 16:20 etc.
20.    ¹ There are at least 109 mountains on Earth with elevations greater than 23,000 feet above sea level. Mt. Everest boasts 29,000 feet above sea level. Mt. Ararat is 17,000 feet above sea level.
24.     ¹ A surge of the sea is the meaning of kludon, which is the base meaning of kata+kluzo= kataklusmos (cataclysm), the NT Greek word translated as flood.  Here several translations are confirming this with their use of the word surge in this verse.

Chapter 8

1.    And God remembered Noah, and all the wild energetic animals, and all the creatures that were with him in the ark: and God made a strong Jet Stream¹ wind to blow over the earth, and the stirred up waters from the ocean² calmed down;
2.   The water from the ocean² was blocked¹ and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven had finished;
3.    And the tidal waves returned from off the earth and from continually sloshing back and forth over the continents: and after the end of this 150 days (five months) the waters were disappearing from off the continents [as they were driven by the Jet Stream wind and slowly returned to the ocean basin where they have a permanent home³].
4.     And the Ark came to rest on the 17th day of the 7th month (5 months since it all began on the 17th day of the 2nd month), upon the mountains of Ararat where it remained.
5.    The surging waters decreased, diminished continually from sloshing back and forth, going primarily in one direction (toward the sea basin) for 2 months longer:  when in the 10th month, on the 1st day, the summit tops of the mountains were visible.
6.      As time passed, 40 days later Noah opened the window on the top of the Ark which he had made:

1.   ¹ God did this for a two fold reason: to provide for rain, i.e. weather from then onward (Gen.2:5-6), and to calm the still violent and agitated sea.
