Ancient of Days

ANCIENT OF DAYS

From pgs. 37-38, 113-114 in "12 Hours in Heaven"

There have been many thousands of worlds created, one every fifteen thousand years. He used this same orbit for all of them.  When a world reaches it’s “ancient of days” (the Lord’s words),  He caught the people up to the New Jerusalem (in Paradise).  When it’d come to the end of 14,000 years,  He’d call it, it’s “Ancient of days.”  That’s the end of a world’s days.

In the original 1611 King James the words were printed like this:
"Vntil the Ancient of daies came" –Dan. 7:22

In the 1901 American Standard Version it was printed like this:
"until the ancient of days came" –Dan. 7:22

NO CAPITALIZATION

There seems to be a developing question about it with the translators. The focus here is with verse 22 which seems to be used as a parallelism with "the time came." But first look at verse 13 in more detail. And I'm not so sure that even verse 13 isn't talking in terms of verse 22. This will help prepare for the last one, for which I have made a case in regards to. There is something more to it than meets the eye as demonstrated by the modern translations.

VERSE 13_____________________________________________________________

"and he came even to the ancient of days" -ASV
"He reached the Ancient of Days" -Tanakh (1985)******************************************!!
"and he came on to the Ancient of days" –Septuagint

______________________________________________________________________

In that verse 13 is the VERB #4291 which means REACH, ATTAIN. But in VERSE 22 the first verb is "came" which is VERB #858 אַﬨﬣ which means 'come'..... HOWEVER, the second one is #4291 :

"Until the Ancient of days came (#858), and judgment was given to the Saints of the most high: and the time came (#4291) that the Saints possessed the kingdom" –Daniel 7:22/KJV

מּטּﬣ4291 vb. reach, attain --1. a. reach, come to Dn.6.25 (with locality); come unto, as far as Dn.7.13 (person); absolute arrive 7.22 (of time; Septuagint ἐδόθη...........)

DANIEL 7:22 - Modern Translations

I have assembled here a list of different translations that have taken the queue from Brown, Driver & Briggs and translated Dan.7:22 accordingly. Notice some place it in the following sentence where it belongs, but remember the parallelism concept, which would render it ditto. So others (4) have used it where verb #858 is found, because of the affinity with verb #4291.

International Standard Version :
until the Ancient of Days arrived....
and the time came for the saints to take possession of the kingdom.

The Voice :
until the Ancient of Days arrived....
Now the appointed time** had come when the holy ones took possession of the eternal kingdom.

New Revised Standard Version :
and the time arrived when the holy ones gained possession of the kingdom.

New English Translation :
until the Ancient of Days arrived....
Then the time came for the holy ones to take possession of the kingdom

New American Standard Bible :
and the time arrived when the saints took possession of the kingdom.

Lexham English Bible :
and the time arrived and the holy ones took possession of the kingdom

Holman Christian Standard Bible :
until the Ancient of Days arrived....
for the time had come, and the holy ones took possession of the kingdom.

1599 Geneva Bible :
and the time approached, that the Saints possessed the kingdom.

Darby Translation :
and the appointed time** arrived, and the saints possessed the kingdom.

Contemporary English Version :
because the time had arrived for them to be given the kingdom
.
Common English Bible :
The set time** arrived, and the holy ones held the kingship securely.

Creation Bible:
until the ancient of days arrived, and the authority to act as judges was given to the saints of the most High; because then this fixed time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

"and prevailed against them; Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was givenTO the Saints of the most high: and the time came THAT the Saints possessed the kingdom" –Daniel 7:21,22/KJV
NOTICE THIS:   THE TIME CAME THAT** ......NOT THE TIME CAME WHEN !
**It is a fixed time or appointed time. The 'appointed' time is found in Brown,Driver,Briggs lexicon @ word #2166
.
THE KJV IS CORRECT, JUDGMENT WAS GIVEN "TO" (not "for") – COMPARE REV. 20:4: "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them" (KJV compared with The Amplified): And sitting on them were those to whom authority to act as judges was entrusted.       Cf. Psalms 149:9.

IT APPEARS IN VERSE 22 TO BE A PERIOD OF TIME AND SEEMS TO BE WHAT'S CALLED A  *PARALLELISM  IN HEBREW —THE NEXT SENTENCE REPEATING THE MEANING.  AS TO WHICH FORM OF PARALLELISM IT IS, YOU DECIDE.
Although the prophets of Israel inserted poems in their prophecies, or adopted occasionally the rhythm of the dirge, which was well known to their readers, their utterances, aside from the exceptions to be noted, were in the freer rhythm of prose. This view is confirmed by a sentence of Jerome(one of the early church fathers) that deserves attention. He says in his preface to his translation of Isaiah: "Let no one think that THE PROPHETS among the Hebrews were bound by meter similar to that of the Psalms."

*IS IT A PARALLELISM ?

Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the Saints of the most high
[ = ]
and the time came that the Saints possessed the kingdom.

A period of time: "the Ancient of days came"
[ = ]
"the time came THAT**…......"

MY FURTHER COMMENTARY

What's being said here in Daniel is about "the end of the world" in Mat.13:39. God is going to harvest his people and he's going to harvest the devil's crowd as well. The tares are harvested first. Then we who are alive and remain are caught up (gathered) as the wheat. "For he will finish the account, and CUT IT SHORT in righteousness; because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth" -Romans 9:28/KJV. For the Lord will execute his word upon the earth, finishing it and CUTTING IT SHORT-Rom.9:28/ASV. (In other words, Zeph.1:18). Cf. Isa.10:22,23. Generally what is determined or judged of Israel will fall upon the whole world as per Jer.25:29ff. (For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God-1 Pet.4:17. God judged the world at the flood-2 Pet.3:6. Now all judgment has been committed to the Son-John 5:22,27,30; Acts 17:31; Rev.6:16,17). In Revelation 6 the riders on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th horses are devils and the horse represents human flesh. The devil would have rode this world into perdition at the tower of Babel (the beast that was), but God forestalled it by doing what he did, so that He could get the plan of redemption ready. >>Now it will be allowed to run it's course<< as we head towards one world government and it culminates with the 3 1/2 year tribulation period (the beast yet to come). (1st horse of Rev.6 may not be the antichrist but instead the kingdom of God simply because God gets there first with the preaching of the Everlasting Gospel of the Kingdom). When the plan of full redemption (full salvation) is ready to be revealed in the last time (1 Pet.1:5) then God is ready to wrap it up as per Psalm 149:1-9. The stone cut out of the mountain without hands in Dan.2:45 represents the Sons of God who will judge this world @ Dan.7:22,26 and Rev.20:4. The end of the world in Mat.13 is to be understood in light of Heb.2:5 and 6:5: "the world to come" and 2 Pet.3:13. The world to come is the Millenium or "the Days (reign) of the Son of Man" in Luke 17:22 and Psalms 72:7. "In the world that is to be, when the Son of Man is seated on his throne in heavenly splendour, you my followers will have thrones of your own, where you will sit as judges (rulers)"-Mat.19:28/New English Bible. Cf. Eph.1:20-21; 2:6; Rev.12:5; 2 Thes.1:10. "Shall reign with him a thousand years"-Rev.20:6. Mat.13:41 refers to "his kingdom." Rev.11:15 says this is when "The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord". Dan.7:22 skips on to verse 27. Cf. Dan.2:44: the fully redeemed (immortal) kings and priests. "He shall have dominion also from sea to sea"-Psa.72:8. The Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven is what CUT IT SHORT. Whom the heaven must receive UNTIL the times of restitution of all things-Acts 3:21. And I appoint** unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed** unto me; That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on (12) thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel (the 144,000 or manchild is referred to here)."-Luke 22:29,30. "Even as I received of my Father."-Rev.2:27 (Rev.12:1,5). In Rev.10:7 we see this abrupt message of the angel sware by him who created heaven and earth "that there should be time no longer" because the mystery of God is finished (which comprises the new angel of light-144,000-firstborn-manchild-firstfruits etc.). They're ready to rule and reign with him-Rev.5:10; 20:4. So God creates the new earth for them to rule over. A new heaven and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness-2 Pet.3:13. Cf. Isa.65:17. (It won't be allowed to continue on like it is now, until the Ancient of days or completion of 14,000 years. In 2 Pet.3:7,9 is inserted verse 8. God will finish the account [concluding, closing, final, summary] and cut it short [by a 1000 years]).

The last usage of "the Ancient of days" (KJV) here in Dan.7:22 sounds like the 14 days or 14,000 years (New English Bible) that routinely (comes, arrives) for the planet that has accumulated, since the time when God brought it here from out in the Universe to this orbit where it is now.  (Pgs. 35-38, 41 of"12 Hours in Heaven").

Then after the completion of 14,000 years total, it is from that point in time that it will be taken into eternity, and be taken up to beneath where the Ancient of days sits enthroned, in eternal orbit around the mountain of God and now becomes one of the stars of God, a glorified world. Thus it arrives to it's final destination or place there, both temporally as well as physically.  [This is what will follow at the end of the millenium].
