12 Hours in Heaven

  
     

This experience was tantamount to what Paul had in 2 Cor. 12 and John in Rev. 21.10  

"Prove all things" is a heavy task, but not impossible

         This visit to Paradise (Second Heaven) that my grandfather had was of short duration compared to the time he would have spent in the Third Heaven where he was shown a VISION. What he saw was a Vision of the whole history of the Universe. The only person capable of knowing that information contained in it would be the one who showed it to him.   Because of his knowledge of the Bible, my father knew the right questions to ask and my grandfather would describe to him in detail what he saw.  The way that it is told is in a sequential order that took place from Earth to Paradise and then to the Third heaven, and then back to Paradise and to Earth.  When I set out to publish this I realized the need to "prove all things" (1 Thess. 5:21) and fortunately the Lord had given me enough scriptures in the Bible to get it started along with some scientific information that I already had in possession. This acquiring of hidden scriptural truths as well as more scientific disclosure is ongoing and there is a lot more on this website than was available at the time I published the Book.  An attempt to keep the research apart from the story is near impossible, because it itself is so remarkable and compelling.  If you are looking for proof that he died and went to heaven you will have to accept this material which I have gathered which is testimonial evidence, both from scriptural and scientific standpoints, but which attests to it and is sound and substantial nonetheless.  Another form of evidence, is noting the particular striking points of similarity of what my Grandfather saw and what 4 other individuals have seen in their NDE (near death experience) or Vision.  Those four are Dr. Richard Eby, Dr. George Ritchie (both NDE) and Lester Sumrall and Tommy Hicks (both Visions).  There are others but these are adequate.  I have included them on this page below. Tommy Hicks' vision is found in e magazine Bible Times No. 4.  

UNDERSTANDING WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS REGARDING DYING  vs.  SLEEPING

 ( Example: 2 Cor. 4:18 )

First of all, the soul and spirit is eternal & immortal and that should suffice to explain how it can never "sleep." While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal -2 Cor. 4:18. 
                                                                                                                                                

 NOT  LITERAL

To "sleep" means to lie down or rest, repose. When a person sleeps at night, their body becomes inactive,  but their spirit & soul is still alive nonetheless. When we are deceased, our body is permanently inactive, and decays until we are given a new one in the resurrection. The term sleep is used both euphemistically and metaphorically for dying--Thayers lexicon.  (Job 7:21; 14:12; Dan.12:2; 1 Cor.11:30; 15:51; 1 Thess.4:14). [SEE ILLUSTRATION AT LEFT]  

VERY MUCH ALIVE

When our spirit and soul departs this home (2 Cor.5:8) or i.e., is away from the home of the body,  it's taken to the home of the soul in paradise where it is very much alive & present with the Lord.     Thou hast delivered my soul from death-Psalm 56:13.  The righteous is taken away from the evil.  He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness-Isaiah 57:1,2. 

Here it is talking about walking straight or straightforward  before God, (Prov. 4:25) the straight & narrow path,  entering the straight gate  (or pearly gate).  

And to be present with the Lord is to be at home with the Lord and is to LIVE with the Lord.  

You inherit eternal life and Your life is hid with Christ in God reserved and kept for you in heaven-Col.3:3 / 1 Pet.1:4.  
Whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him-1 Thess.5:10.

Thayer's lexicon speaks of "life in heaven" at 2 Cor.5:8.   

These disembodied spirits are sometimes referred to as naked souls under the altar:   AND THEY CRIED WITH A LOUD VOICE....-Rev.6:9-11.  The voice of Righteous Abel's blood is still crying from the ground to this day (Gen.4:10).

YOU WILL BE WITH ME TODAY IN PARADISE

There is a Hebrew undertext of the Greek in Matthew, Mark & Luke.   The synoptic gospels were translated from a Hebrew original.   That's why the Greek is poor Greek.  It's poor English too.  Look at Luke 23:43 in Hebrew,  and the way Jesus would have said it in Hebrew translated into English:   Yeshua said to him, “Yes! I promise that you will be with me today in Gan-‘Eden.”  -Luke 23:43 / Complete Jewish Bible.

The place of spiritual reward for the righteous is often referred to in Hebrew as Gan Eden (GAHN ehy-DEHN) (the Garden of Eden). This is  the same place where Adam and Eve were; it is a place of spiritual perfection. The Torah speaks of several noteworthy people being "gathered to their people." See, for example, Gen. 25:8 (Abraham), 25:17 (Ishmael), 35:29 (Isaac), 49:33 (Jacob), Deut. 32:50 (Moses and Aaron) II Kings 22:20 (King Josiah). This gathering is described as a separate event from the physical death of the body or the burial.   Cf. Gen.15:15.

The righteous shall enter into peace (Isa.57:2).   Howbeit there is no peace unto the wicked? (Isa.48:22).  For they both will sleep or die. 


NEITHER DOTH CORRUPTION INHERIT INCORRUPTION (1 Cor.15:50).

The reason Adam & Eve were driven from the Garden of Eden, they now had corrupted blood because of the Serpent (corrupter, poisoner), and the flaming sword at the entrance means you must shed this vile animal body before you can enter again.  Only Jesus took his resurrected BODY into Paradise as the second Adam and reopened it.  Only our SPIRITS have been redeemed at this point.  We await the full redemption.

  

To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the 

tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise 

of God-Rev.2:7

Hell is not a pretty place, but most people don't care. 

They will, when they get there though, and it's too late. 

Seek the Lord now, while he may be found.

"The afterlife below is all astir to meet you when you arrive; it rouses up the spirits of the dead
to greet you— everyone who used to be world leaders."  -Isa. 14:9 / ISV 

Out of the body experience  vs.  Near death experience

 The secular world prefers the term 'near death experience' which is not scriptural although maybe more clinical.   Nowhere was the term used in this book.  The scriptural term is "out of the body" which is from 2 Cor. 12:2 and also found in 2 Cor. 5:8 in the literal Greek.

           George Ricker Berry's Greek NT interlinear @ 2 Cor. 5:8:  "We are confident, and are pleased rather to be from home out of the body and to be at home with the Lord."   This is a literal translation of the Greek into English.  The Amplified Bible concurs with this and says it like this in verse 8:   .......to be away from home out of the body and be at home with the Lord.

           Even though the occult world has borrowed the term 'out of body' from the Holy Bible and use it now satanically, it is just like the term new birth, etc.  The devil will counterfeit anything.   But realize that in order for there to be a counterfeit there has to be a genuine article somewhere. 

Not to glory in your own experience

          In the hopes of allaying any difficulties one might have with 2 Cor. 12:4 I will try to explain the passage.  "How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is NOT POSSIBLE for a man to utter"-KJVmargin.  Most translations will use the meaning NOT PERMITTED, NOT ALLOWED, OR FORBIDDEN in that sentence.  The King James gives two:  not lawful* or possible.   The Greek is not too complex there to understand.  J.B. Phillips explains how Paul would be boasting if he were allowed to tell others:  "Of such an one I will glory (be proud of) : yet of myself I will not glory (boast)."   The Living Bible says it best:  "I (Paul) am not allowed to tell."  The reason why other translations expand it to mean "no man" is because Paul puts it in the third person starting with verse 2:  "I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago."  Whereas the Living Bible goes ahead and puts it in the first person:  "Fourteen years ago I was taken up to heaven for a visit."   So obviously it only applied to Paul or the Corinthians for the particular reasons mentioned in that chapter.   The unspeakable words or utterances are best translated by Wycliffe, New English Bible, James Moffatt, Ronald Knox, Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition, New Century Version, Easy to Read Version,  as "sacred secrets" or "mysteries."   These things were too difficult,  too astounding to try to explain, too wonderful to tell, therefore they need not be included or ("translated"-J.B. Phillips).  Peter says this about Paul's epistles to the Gentiles:   "And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation;  even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;  As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things;  in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction."-2 Pet. 3:15-16.

*[unlawful:  The only reason it might have been unlawful is found in the Mishnah in Order Moed, Tractate Chagigah, Chapter 2 and Mishnah 1.    "Whoever puts his mind to these four matters it would be better for him if he had not come into the world:   What is above, what is below, what is beyond and what is the opposite of beyond.   These speculations lead to no result whatever and do not even serve any useful academic philosophical purpose but only cause a falling away from true moral teaching."]

With all due respect to that, it does say in Col.3:2/KJVmargin-  "Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth."  But with my grandfather, it was no speculation.  He was a witness of those things.

In a perfect place

           In heaven everything is known differently than it is known here on earth through five senses in this mortal or carnal body.   "For now we see through a glass, darkly" -1 Cor. 13:12.  For one thing, once we die or become disembodied, the knowledge of good and evil ceases to exist as far as a saved person is concerned.  "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:  for in the day that thou eatest thereof, dying thou shalt die" -Gen.2:17/KJV margin.   Helen Spurrell agrees with the King James margin there in her 1885 Translation of the Old Testament Scriptures from the Original Hebrew.  After a person's spirit is redeemed, then when they die and go to Paradise they are given the perfect knowledge.   [That flaming sword in Gen.3:24 at the entrance to Paradise at that eastern gate, or pearly gate, means this vile body has to be shed before you can enter because of the corrupted blood.  Jesus Christ, who is the 2nd Adam, is the only one so far to take his body into Paradise. **]   That this imperfect knowledge ceases to exist, is borne out by Isa. 57:1 in the King James 1611 Version without it's italicized words:  "The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil."   In the margin:  "from that which is evil."   Meaning this present evil world -Gal.1:4. The New King James Version concurs with it's 1611 margin of Isa.57:1.  Neither doth corruption inherit incorruption (1 Cor.15:50).

The tower of Babel, which Babel means "gate to god" and gate would mean that access to the tree of knowledge of good and evil which is in our atmosphere, the first heaven where the cut down and fallen daystar Lucifer, the god of this world now works from and the knowledge he works with (Eph.2:2-3; 6:12; Isa.14:12; 2 Cor. 4:4).

The word knowledge, and that it will cease to exist in 1 Cor.13:8 is from 1 Cor.13:2.  The word prophecy has no "gift of" in the Greek. The KJV has it in italics. Prophecy is speaking forth for God.  It can be the already written word of God or the word from God as it is received by the Holy Spirit.  Which is truth, as God is not a man that he should lie. Verse 9 goes on and says what we "know" is imperfect -Amplified Bible. Verse 10, the number of completion in Hebraic Gematria,  says when the perfect [knowledge] comes, then the imperfect [knowledge] will vanish away, just as Lucifer shall vanish away into the pit when the "teaching scroll" of the first heaven is rolled up and put in the pit along with him. Then verse 12 finally says, for the present we see through a mirror dimly and imperfectly.  This imperfect knowledge of good and evil is a dim light sent down from Lucifer into the spirits of men [the children of disobedience] from the [air] atmosphere (first heaven) giving us imparted knowledge through thoughts of the mind -Eph.2:2-3. The imperfect is a mirror image, trying to counterfeit and reflect what the perfect knowledge is, which Lucifer got cut off from when he took control of the knowledge of good and evil. With the perfect knowledge, which comes from God, you cannot do evil with it, it won't work that way!  In heaven, everything is clear, nothing is obscured or dim or misunderstood.  God, who is perfect in knowledge and understanding (Job 36:4),  sees us clearly and perfectly.  When the children of God shall be taught from the Lord (Isa.54:13), you shall see your teachers (Isa.30:20), who shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, as the angels forever and ever -Dan. 12:3. This crown of twelve stars (the fully redeemed 144,000) will be as a NEW angel of Light, a NEW Daystar and Bright Morning Star, with JESUS as their head, and with his Majesty and Power they will rule the New Earth -(Rev.12:1,5,10; 2:28; Heb.2:5; Rev. 20:4). The old daystar and morning star Lucifer, and his darkness which is his knowledge of good and evil will be in the lake of fire forever and ever when the Eighth Day comes. 
The old dragon, serpent, teacher and ruler, Lucifer, will be replaced by the NEW teacher and ruler, Jesus and his Manchild (144,000, firstborn, firstfruits, his train that follows him wherever he goes) -(John 3:2) Rev.14:4; 12:3-10.           First impression of Heaven

     

    He was taken to Paradise by an Angel, which is one of the things that they do.  When my grandfather arrived in Paradise, he was wondering and thinking from a new and scriptural perspective.   He was wondering,  "What beautiful land is this?"  At the same time he was thinking,  "What beautiful country is this?"   My father had it written both ways.   And no wonder.  When I finally did research on this verse in 2 Corinthians chapter five,  I was amazed at the Biblical accuracy of those thoughts !

The word translated "home" is endemeo and according to Strong's actually means:

to be in one's own country, i.e. home

Similarly the word translated "away or absent"  is ekdemeo and actually means: 

to emigrate, i.e. (fig.) vacate

        What this all means is, when we leave this earthly body it's like leaving your homeland or native country & surroundings,  just like boarding a plane and arriving in another continent.  Then you step off the plane realizing, I'm in another country ! 

         And so Jesus,  using these Biblical words in answering him, says "This is Beulah land, the home of the soul, paradise and heaven...."    I don't know what names were spoken other than those.   But those are Biblical names for Paradise.   Jesus was commenting on 2 Cor. 5 when he called it "the home of the soul" because when we vacate this body, our spirit & soul must have a "home" somewhere.   If there is the home of the body,  (and you can certainly see it in the Greek in YLT),  then there must be the home of the soul also.   We emigrate to another country, another land, so to speak.  And like it says in Phil. 3:20, our politeuma, our citizenship is in heaven !   So if you're born of the (new) Jerusalem mother above like Paul tells us in Gal. 4:26-29, then this is now your home of native birth or origin.   In John 3:7 in my 1611 edition of the King James it says in the margin,  "Ye must be born from above."   (This is what Jesus says about where he is from in John 8:23;   cf. 1 Cor.15:47-49).   The terms born anew, born from above, born (over) again, reborn, new birth are all correct and mean the same thing in this context.   Cf. Psa.87:5-6;  Heb.12:22-23.

           Realizing this, that the Garden of Eden was superimposed down here on earth,  and that the Hebrew word doesn't mean figuratively "planted," but intrinsically the word means that God "fixed" or "established" a garden,  then the name "Beulah land" takes on a whole new perspective.   And grandpa said that the Garden of Eden had a hedge around it.  The word "garden" means, fenced or hedged about.   The word "Eden" means delight or pleasure,  the same as the word "Hephzi-bah" that's found in Isa. 62:4.    The Amplified says in Gen. 2:8 "the Lord God planted (fixed) a garden toward the east in Eden (meaning delight)." That would refer to the eastern gate or pearly gate in Beulah land or "paradise of God" where the book of Revelation says the tree of life is (Rev.2:7).  As in Ezek 28:13 it means the Garden of God throughout the Bible, just like the Mountain of God, and the city of God (Holy City) all of which are heavenly.  Grandpa said the Garden of Eden was to his right, just inside the pearly gate entrance into Paradise.           

Because of Hebrew parallelism, the two words, Beulah (married) and Hephzi-bah (delight) are referring to a singular thought here.

                                                                               The Three Heavens

1st Heaven--

A supernatural place in the earth's atmosphere. Currently occupied by Satan.  "Heavenly places"-Eph.6:12. "Air"-(Eph.2:2) see Thayer's lexicon for the word "air" to mean atmoshphere. "In heaven" -Rev. 12:8.  "Stars of heaven" -Rev.6:13; 12:4.  When a new heaven is created, then Psa.48:1,2 will be here also, where Jesus will reign in glory.

2nd Heaven--

A supernatural place above the earth's north pole approximately the same distance the moon is from the earth. The Paradise of God (Rev.2:7).  The Garden of Eden is within it.  (Heavenly Zion looketh down) Fair, beautiful as the moon (Song of Sol. 6:10);  Fair, beautiful, for elevation, height, situation  (Psa.48:1,2).

3rd Heaven--

A supernatural place which is the abode of God in the uttermost north (Isa.14:13).  The Mountain of God (Ezek.28:16).  Where God's throne is, the height of heaven (Job 22:12).  Fair, beautiful, for elevation, height is mount Zion, on the sides of the north (Psa.48:1,2). Like the work of clear sapphire -American Baptist Publication Society (Exod.24:10)  And like the material of the heavens for transparency -Spurrell  (Exod.24:10).

This material or substance in Heaven is what Grandpa described as "crystal" or ice.  (Ezek. 1:22).

HELL 

(Hell is in two places; inside the earth as well as in the first heaven: below the earth's south pole, being "beneath" in another sense)

            Where this scenario is found in the Bible,  that's found on Page 26,27 of 12 Hours in Heaven:

Then he was taken over on top of the Hills of Glory. Looking across (and toward what would be ‛south’ on Earth), in the distance was a ‛planet,’ bigger than the Earth but irregular shaped like a large chunk of rock, barren, dry, dismal and had no plant life anywhere on it. This place had black holes in it like the entrance to a cave. A man was standing on a ledge outside one of these caves, waving his arms. Grandpa said to the Lord, “Someone over there wants help.”  The Lord said, “Many of them come out there and beg for help. It was right along there that the rich man stood and begged Lazarus to bring water to him, but no man can pass from there to here, nor from here to there. In addition to the great gulf  (space), there is a LINE OF DISTINCTION* that no man can pass through.”   *(It’s a barrier that they can see through but cannot pass through). Those in hell could stand in the caves and see those who were going into paradise but they could not cross over the gulf.

         [Note: That barrier is made out of the same material or is the same thing as the “Terrible crystal”—Ezek. 1:22. “A sea of glass like unto crystal”—Rev. 4:6. “A sea of glass mingled with fire”—Rev. 15:2. “Great gulf fixed”—Luke 16:26. ‘gulf’  chasma: a vacancy (impassable interval)—Strong’s concordance]

It was from here (atop the Hills of Glory) that he looked down and saw the Earth. It had the same blue-green look and similar size as the pictures made of the Earth from the moon by the astronauts. He said that’s how the Earth looked to him then, looking from Paradise.

TWO ROADS

Then he saw two roads. One was straight and narrow that went from the earth to the pearly gate going into Paradise. The frequency of the traffic on this road was about one every hundred feet, going up from the earth to Paradise. Then he was shown a wide road, a scenic road. It was a broad winding road filled with people. Those on this road were singing the songs they sang back on Earth. This road passed over a rusty iron bridge and through a rusty iron gate and over a cliff and into hell fire. Filling up this road was a river of people. Those coming from the Earth could not move until those at the other end went in (over the cliff and into the fire): the singing changed to a lot of screaming and screeching as they went over the cliff. The Lord said, “That is the wicked dead coming into their reward.”  Then the Lord ‛took the side out’ of the place called hell and let him see inside. It had a dull red glow throughout.  The people were very crowded; there was no place to go and nothing to do.  One man met another man and remembered that he had done something to him back on Earth and he attacked him and bit him. “There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth” was fulfilled there. The fire did not illuminate, but the blazes in appearance were like a vapor. He said to the Lord, “Back on Earth there are ministers who say that if you give them some money that they can pray you out of that place.” The Lord answered, “Once they are in there, they are there, there is no getting out.”

        [Note: “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction”—Mat.7:13,14. “There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth”—Mat. 8:12. “Wailing and gnashing of teeth”—Mat. 13:42. “They gnashed on him with their teeth”—Acts 7:54.] 

That is from Psa. 91:8:   "Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked".  The Geneva Bible (1599) says in the margin notes:   The godly shall have some experience of God’s judgments against the wicked even in this life, but fully they shall see it at that day when all things shall be revealed.
Bauer's Greek Lexicon gives you this additional definition of (gulf)  chasma:

chasma:  (lit. 'a yawning') of the unbridgeable space between Abraham and the place of torture

Has anyone else ever seen this?  Yes,  Lester Sumrall, renowned evangelist saw a vision of this while sitting in a school auditorium church meeting in Tennesee in 1930's.  Hear his description of it.  People were getting off the road of life, and getting on another road.  At the end of this road (the mainstream, which were those who were damned), they came to a precipice and went over into the lake of fire, (but it was actually hell).  Nobody is in the lake of fire yet, which comes later.    

Paradise is flat,  not round like a planet.  In this supernatural realm, it is hard imagining 4 directions in a dimension we're not capable of understanding.   Straight up would seem to be North,  however when you're there,  you can see the earth below, which is South.  So maybe the natural Universe is something unique to behold, apart from the heavenly.   Has anyone else ever seen this?     Yes,  Dr. Richard Eby,  in his book "Caught Up Into Paradise" on pg. 204, mentions a VALLEY with foothills on each side.

Dr. Richard Eby talks about a "hand" coming out of a mist at the white throne judgment and pointing to the lake of fire for a lost sinner (which Eby had been put in the role of, temporarily). 

From the book 12 Hours in Heaven, pg. 60:

Enoch is way up there high with the Lord because God uses him at the white throne judgment: Enoch stood at the gate, and when the Lord judges the people, with a flip of his hand Enoch will send them to either the lake of fire or the holy city, whichever the Lord judged them for. 

Notice Dr. Eby's statement  that God's response was "Depart" (from Me). Back before the flood, the response from the wicked was telling God "Depart from us" (Job 22:17).

George Ritchie (NDE):

What George Ritchie saw, can really only be understood by what was shown to Sam Henson.

If you've read  12 Hours in Heaven pages 51-54  or  magazine no.6 of the Bible Times, you might be interested in this experience of Dr. George Ritchie, a Charlottesville psychiatrist who died for 9 minutes in 1943.   A well published story for decades, it was included in the movie "Beyond and Back" which was based on a book by evangelist Ralph Wilkerson (1978). 

Where he was taken you wouldn't want to go:  he saw and visited the first heaven where the devils are.

The part which is of significance is shown here.  I recorded this off of KTVT Channel 11 back in the 1980's on VHS so the quality is average.  This is an excerpt from  the movie documentary "Beyond and Back,"  in which his real name (George Ritchie) was changed in the movie to 'Paul Kelly'.  

This particular NDE interests me because it has one part in common with my Grandfather's after death experience in 1937.   That is the part where he sees the devils in the first heaven working on inventions.  He saw many "centers of higher learning" as stated in the Fort Worth Star Telegram book review in 1977 shown below.  The first heaven which is in our atmosphere consists of 3 layers.  The top two is where they have the knowledge and they work from there giving man the knowledge of good and evil.  They are about ten or twenty years ahead of man's development of it here on earth.  The devils work out all the details and get a thing proven out by making a mock-up model and prototype and then they give man the knowledge and he does the same thing.  This is how all of our inventions have come about.

I talked to George Ritchie on the telephone about 15 years ago, and tried to explain how Sam Henson saw the Devils in that realm making the inventions before they gave the knowledge to man. He got very upset with me and said he didn't see any similarity with what he saw.  My dad said he expected he would be like that, being a psychiatrist I guess.   It is amazing how such men of such intellect cannot understand this very obvious thing.

Life Magazine, Oct. 26, 1953
In the above interview of Dr. George Ritchie, on the first page where it is highlighted in Green, 
he mentions a Life magazine article.
However, there is a discrepancy in the name. Ritchie calls it the Nautilus correctly, but the article here called it Seawolf.

USS Nautilus (SSN-571) was the world's first operational nuclear-powered submarine. The new atomic powered Nautilus was authorized in 1951, with laying down for construction in 1952 and launched in January 1954. The Seawolf was not until 1983. Perhaps for security reasons they changed the name for Life Magazine, or else the submarine name was changed while being designed.  This may not be the same Life magazine he referred to, there might have been an earlier Dec. 1952 article showing the actual submarine. Then again, the Seawolf might have been started this early, and not brought to actual production until the 1980's.  It was an attack submarine.  However, read the description in the excerpt from his book Return from Tomorrow:

I am only going to refer you to a few pages in what constitutes a personal review of the book Return from Tomorrow  by George Ritchie which was part of a Guideposts 2-in-1 selection with Betty Malz's "My Glimpse of Eternity."  I am paraphrasing here except where underlined.   On page 69 he is talking about the very part depicted in the Movie Beyond and Back:   He saw some huge rooms with "complex equipment".  In some of these rooms "hooded figures" were looking over "intricate charts and diagrams", and some were at the "controls of elaborate consoles flickering with lights".   Page 71:  He was in one building filled with "technological machinery" and there was inside a "sphere-shaped structure"  a "catwalk" over a tank of water.  He describes what were "huge laboratories".    Page 119,120:  One day in 1952 he was looking at a Life magazine and on one page was a "drawing of a gigantic sphere-shaped structure cut away to reveal men and machines inside it".  It had a "traveling crane mounted on steel girders," "a huge circular tank,"  "catwalks," and "a small control room".  He wasn't disturbed at the "futuristic appearance" of it all,  but at the certainty that he had seen it before.

Last week the Atomic Energy Commission partially lifted its veil of secrecy and allowed Life's artists to make a drawing of some details of the prototype of the second US atomic submarine engine and the strange house that holds it.  The building, now going up near Schenectady, N.Y., will be the world's largest man-made sphere, a $2-million, two hundred and twenty-five foot steel shell.        Life magazine, 1952

He was so certain that he had seen all that,  but had never actually been to Schenectady.  Then he remembered that it was "in that tranquil campus-like realm inhabited by beings wrapped in thought as monks are wrapped in robes," where he had stood in 1943, "staring at a huge sphere-shaped building, walking through its intricate fittings....."

I happened to discover a copy of Life magazine, Oct. 26,1953,  that my father had among his papers that had the mailing label on it to a fellow employee at General Dynamics which he did not know that he had.  Again, this could only be the Lord preparing this.  But it shows an update on this project a year later from the drawing, showing the actual sphere,  to house the second atomic submarine engine, the Sea Wolf.
